Deuteronomy 6:5-8
Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. These commandments that I give you today are to be upon your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. Tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads. Write them on the doorframes of your houses and on your gates.
Children are important to God. They are the future of the church. They are the salt and light of the world.
The children’s ministry leaders at Gateway are dedicated to investing in our children’s Christian education and inspiration as much as we know how. We continually pray for God’s wisdom and direction for improving the children’s ministry at Gateway.
Children’s Ministry
Sunday Morning:
Nursery: Infants - 3 year olds
- This nursery is for children 0 to 3 years old (leeway allowed for "nearly 4's" to attend Sunday School).
- There is no "set" cirriculum.
- The goal is for the kids to feel that church is a comfortable, fun place to be & help them learn to treat others as Jesus taught (sharing, taking turns, etc).
Sunday School: 4 - 12 year olds Sunday School class
- Children will learn about the many aspects of God the Father, Jesus the Savior, & the power of the Holy Spirit of in a fun setting.
- Story time, craft time, music & Bible verse time, activity/play time, & even snack time are all opportunities to reinforce the lesson of the day in a kid-friendly way.
- Discipleland curriculum is used & alternates between Old Testament & New Testament units in 12 week blocks.
- Dedicated teams of teachers love kids & have the desire to help them get to know our great God, to love Jesus & accept Him as Savior, & instruct them on how the Holy Spirit can work in their lives.
